Meet the Crafters: Off Beet Farm

Sarah and Jamie from Off Beet Farm join the Halifax Crafters bearing jars stylishly packaged and stuffed with immunity boosting edibles. This hardworking pair got their start in fermented food 6 years ago after becoming smitten with their taste and health benefits, and today, they produce various sauerkrauts and kimchees made with Nova Scotian vegetables. The items are processed in a “big, lovely commercial kitchen in downtown Dartmouth,” says Sarah, where the “hum of the cabbage shredder fills the room” between podcasts and punk rock music.
Sarah and Jamie introduced their fermented foods along with their produce to the Dartmouth Market. They were pleased to find the items were a hit, and later decided to bring their creations…
